To our swap bodies

First of all, let's clarify together what a swap body is. A swap body is an interchangeable load carrier that can be separated from the carrier vehicle in a similar way to an ISO container (source: Wikipedia). Many people ask themselves what BDF actually means for swap body systems. This abbreviation stands for the Federal Association of German Long-Distance Freight Transport and was originally responsible for the standardization of swap bodies. Today, it is called the Federal Association for Road Haulage, Logistics and Disposal (BGL) e. V. The German Institute for Standardization (DIN) has long been responsible for standardization. The swap bodies are connected to the trucks, trailers (mounts) and freight wagons intended for their transportation by means of pins. Please do not be surprised at the many different designations. The swap body is also called a swap container (WB), swap body, swap platform, WAB, swap body. In Switzerland, it is also known as a swap body or WELAB for short.
